— How we help

Practical support, at the level you need.

We help you see what’s holding the business back, develop practical solutions, set priorities and review progress while your team puts the changes into practice. Your people keep running the business. We bring an independent perspective, analysis, structure and sound judgment.

How it fits together.

The usual starting point is a Business Review. From there, owners can continue as an Advisory Partnership or act on the roadmap themselves. Improvement Projects are added only when a specific change needs more intensive help.

Business Review (diagnose and design), then an Advisory Partnership (plan, your team executes, review, repeat), leading to a more capable business that is better equipped to run independently. You can also act on the roadmap yourselves. Improvement Projects are optional and scoped separately.

01 How we work together

Your team runs the business. We help it run better.

Five stages in a repeating cycle: diagnose, design, plan, execute, review. Prosper leads the diagnosis and develops practical solutions with you. From there, the plan, the work and the results belong to your leadership team, with Prosper advising, guiding decisions and reviewing progress. A framework, not a formula.

Illustrative. Your team owns execution at every stage. Prosper’s role shifts from leading the diagnosis to designing with you, then advising, reviewing progress and helping clear obstacles. The cycle repeats with the next priority.

The five stages in detail

  1. Business Review

    Diagnose

Find what’s really holding the business back.

We look at how the business makes money, where time and cash go, how decisions get made and where work slows down, using your numbers, your processes and conversations with the people doing the work.

    Your team

    • Shares information, access and candid views.

    Prosper

    • Leads the analysis and tests every finding against the evidence.
  2. Business Review

    Design

Develop solutions that fit how you work.

Not every problem deserves attention now. We weigh impact, effort, risk and cash, develop practical options for the few changes that matter, and agree with you on what comes first.

    Your team

    • Shapes the options and makes the decisions.

    Prosper

    • Develops and pressure-tests workable solutions.
  3. Advisory Partnership

    Plan

Turn decisions into a plan people own.

Each priority becomes a short action plan: who owns it, what done looks like, milestones, and the measures that will show whether it’s working.

    Your team

    • Owns the plan: names the people and commits the time.

    Prosper

    • Structures the plan and checks that it’s realistic.
  4. Advisory Partnership

    Execute

Your team puts it into practice.

Your managers and staff make the changes and run the business. Prosper advises at your regular sessions, helps work through problems that come up, and checks that priorities stay on track. The level of contact between sessions is set out in your proposal.

    Your team

    • Carries out the work and runs daily operations.

    Prosper

    • Advises and helps work through obstacles.
  5. Advisory Partnership

    Review

Check results, adjust, and go again.

At regular progress reviews we look at what changed, what the numbers say and what’s stuck, then adjust the plan and choose the next priority. With each cycle, more of this rhythm runs on its own.

    Your team

    • Reports progress, owns the results, runs the review rhythm.

    Prosper

    • Reviews progress objectively and challenges where needed.

What shapes how we work

  • Understand before solving

No templates applied before we know how your business works.

  • Analyze enough, then decide

Rigor without paralysis. Decide, act, adjust.

  • Your team owns the work

Every change is designed with, and owned by, the people who’ll run it.

  • Meaningful, not complicated

The simplest change that solves the problem. Cash, risk and effort weigh in every decision.

  • Respect for your time

Focused meetings, concise reporting, no busywork.

02 Our core work

Advisory Partnership

An independent partner for the decisions and improvements that make a business stronger.

We meet at an agreed rhythm, work from an action plan your team owns, review progress against it, and help resolve what gets in the way. We don’t take over your business or join your management team. Each cycle leaves more capability in the business.

Who does what

The split we agree in writing at the start of every partnership.

Your team

  • Runs the business and manages staff
  • Owns the action plan and its deadlines
  • Carries out the agreed changes
  • Makes the final decisions

Prosper

  • Regular working sessions and progress reviews
  • Analysis, options and recommendations
  • Help setting priorities and structuring plans
  • Contact between sessions as set out in your proposal

03 Start here

Business Review

A focused, independent look at how your business is really performing, and what to fix first.

  1. —

    What it covers

Conversations with you and a small number of key people, a targeted look at the numbers, and a close look at the one or two areas that matter most. Larger reviews are scoped individually when needed.

  2. —

    What you receive

A written findings report, a prioritized improvement roadmap and a working session to walk through it. Useful on its own, even if you go no further with us.

  3. —

    What can come next

An Advisory Partnership, starting with a 90-day action plan built from the roadmap, or acting on it yourselves. Both are fine.

Involvement

Your team

  • Shares key numbers and documents
  • Gives candid views on what’s working
  • Decides what to act on

Prosper

  • Leads the conversations and the analysis
  • Writes the findings, roadmap and key measures
  • Leads the findings session

04 When needed

Improvement Projects

Focused help developing one specific improvement that needs more intensive support than a regular session can give.

Each project has a written scope, defined deliverables, an agreed fee and an end date. Your team owns the decisions, the rollout and the daily use. We don’t run major implementation projects.

  • Management reporting and key measures
  • Pricing and margin model
  • Core process redesign
  • Procedures for a key workflow
  • Roles and decision rights
  • Cash-flow forecast model
  • Management meeting rhythm
  • System requirements (vendor-neutral)

Involvement

Your team

  • Names an internal owner for the project
  • Makes design decisions and approves deliverables
  • Rolls out the change and runs it

Prosper

  • Helps develop the agreed deliverables with your team
  • Facilitates working sessions
  • Walks the people who’ll use it through what’s produced

05 Where we work

Four areas, rarely separate.

A cash problem is often a process problem. A process problem is often an accountability problem. We look at the whole picture so the fix addresses the cause.

  1. 01

    Operations & systems

Workflows, processes, tools and routines that make good work repeatable.

  2. 02

    Financial & performance visibility

Knowing which work makes money, where cash goes, and how the business is really performing.

  3. 03

    Leadership & accountability

Clear roles, decision rights and ownership, so the business depends less on the owner for everyday decisions.

  4. 04

    Decisions & execution

Choosing the few priorities that matter, and helping your team keep them moving until they’re done.

Working with your other advisors

Prosper doesn’t provide accounting, bookkeeping, tax, legal or investment advice, and doesn’t sell software. Where you need those, we work alongside your existing professionals.

Is Prosper the right fit?

We work with a small number of clients at a time, so fit matters to both of us. If you mainly need hands-on capacity, we’ll tell you so and suggest where to look.

We work best with

  • Established, owner-operated businesses with real operational, financial or organizational challenges
  • A management team or key staff who can carry out the changes
  • Owners who want independent advice and a steady advisory relationship, not hands-on management

What we don’t do

  • Interim management or acting as your COO
  • Managing your employees or running daily operations
  • Running or implementing major projects
  • Unlimited availability or being on call

Every engagement starts with a clear proposal.

We don’t sell standard packages or publish a price list, because no two businesses need the same thing. Whether you’re considering a Review, a partnership or a project, you’ll know exactly what’s proposed, the level of support included, and what it costs, before you decide.

  1. Step 1A first conversationConfidential and without obligation: what you’re working through, what you want to improve, and whether we’re the right fit.
  2. Step 2A written proposalWe set out a recommended approach, built around your business rather than a standard package.
  3. Step 3Your decisionAsk questions, adjust the scope, take the time you need. There’s no obligation to go ahead.
  4. Step 4Agreement, then workNothing begins until the scope, involvement, fees and terms are agreed in writing.

What your proposal sets out

  • ScopeWhat’s included, what isn’t, and the outcomes the work is aimed at.
  • InvolvementWhat your team does and what Prosper does, written down so there’s no doubt.
  • TimingHow long the work takes, or how often we meet and review progress.
  • FeesWhat the work costs and how it’s billed, set out in full so there are no surprises.
  • TermsConfidentiality, commitment and notice, and how either side can change or end the arrangement.

Not sure where to start?

That’s common. Tell us what you’re working through, and we’ll suggest whether a Business Review is the right first step, or whether another kind of help would suit you better.
